Exams and Scheduling
Graduate Quantitative Economics and Datascience
In this course, all exams will be held in UBC’s ORCA (Open Resource Centre for Assessments), a facility designed for digital assessments to be completed safely, securely, and equitably. There are several ORCA rooms across campus; see the current list of rooms for locations.
To ensure fairness, ORCA has specific policies and procedures. Please read these carefully: breaches constitute academic or, in some cases, non-academic misconduct.
We will have a scheduled, ungraded practice quiz to help you get familiar with the process before the midterm. See Canvas for details.
Self-Scheduled Assessments
Our exams will be self-scheduled: for each assessment, you choose an available ORCA session within the assessment window, typically a few days. Sessions are typically available from 11 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Sunday, with reduced availability on weekends.
Reservations typically open two weeks before an assessment. See the course schedule for the tentative midterm weeks, and PrairieTest for the confirmed assessment windows, available sessions, and your reservation details.
If you miss your reservation, follow ORCA’s missed-reservation instructions.
